It’s 30 minutes and very inspiring! Started in 2013, CoinFest is the annual event equivalent to open source technology: the concept and name lie in the open domain, and anyone is welcome to start a CoinFest of their own so long as they adhere to the Spirit of CoinFest. All you have to do is have an appropriate event around the same time as the rest of us for Coinfest 2018!
CoinFest always needs more organizers. We hope to spread across the globe, and could use your help! Although you will not directly profit from this event, you will get media attention and experience that will add to your credentials, find you new connections, and indirectly bring publicity to your other ventures and projects. This presents a great opportunity to prove your ability to manage an important project, all while making a difference and earning the thanks of your fellow enthusiasts. We will also link to your website from CoinFest.org.

Quick Summary for Newbies – What is Bitcoin?
The most commonly asked question was “what is Bitcoin”? Bitcoin is a worldwide cryptocurrency and digital payment system known as the first decentralized digital currency. The system works without a central repository or single administrator so it is called “decentral”. It was invented by an unknown programmer, or group of programmers, under the name Satoshi Nakamoto and released as open-source software in 2009.
The value of Bitcoin has risen astronomically (over $5000 USD in 2017) as there is a fixed number of total Bitcoin in circulations, making the cryptocurrency deflationary. That is the opposite of currencies like the US dollar or Canadian dollar, where privately owned central banks are able to keep printing unlimited US dollars and Canadian dollars, making these inflationary. That is why the value of Bitcoin (fixed currency) keeps rising over the long-term against the US dollar and Canadian dollar (unlimited currency is fiat currency).
