The Art Party Events

Art Fundraisers, Social Networking Meetups and Workshops

I started using Facebook Events and Facebook Groups in 2010 for The Art Party and since 2007 when it was called Artistrun. Facebook’s algorithm has been and continues to be supportive of local arts and cultural events. In the earlier years, I was able to invite up to 5,000 friends per account to a Facebook event. Below are highlights of several art fundraisers, social networking Meetups and workshops over the years.

The Art Party is now promoting the Independent Artists Market at The Waldorf. It’s an exciting opportunity for local artists! Local Vancouver artists will be showcasing and selling their creative work at The Waldorf on Thursday, September 26, 2019.  Admission is free. Live DJs and a fully licensed bar. The Independent Artist’s Market is held monthly at the Waldorf hotel. It is the only market (that I know of) that allows artists to sell their work with no fees, no commissions, they keep 100% of their sales and pay nothing to set up a vendor. Each artist will be provided a table and a chair, and are responsible for the rest of their display.

The Waldorf is also opening the bar and the kitchen by the Hideaway Nightclub to support this event.

Crowdfunding Workshop + Organic Snacks

Recent statistics show that Crowdfunding is estimated to have created approximately 270,000 jobs world wide and injected more than $65 billion into the global economy, proving that this relatively new method of raising capital is definitely here to stay.

When utilized correctly crowdfunding platforms provide the perfect opportunity for entrepreneurs to launch new products, fund innovative ideas and develop a global community in support of their business.

Unfortunately, it isn’t all rainbows and success. According to statistics provided by some of the most well-known crowdfunding platforms in North America, on average only 44% of campaigns succeed in reaching their funding goal.

In this afternoon workshop you will learn:

  • The difference between rewards-based crowdfunding, fundraising & equity crowdfunding.
  • Why some campaigns fail and others succeed.
  • Strategies for planning and launching a successful rewards-based campaign.
  • How to use Facebook Ads to build your social media following and promote your campaign.

Volunteers Meetup: Local Food, Art & Music

Start a new community local food market that will have art and music. Help Vancouver become a global leader in food-friendly neighbourhoods. We aim for 15 community food markets by 2020 – up from four, currently – as set out in our Greenest City 2020 Action Plan and Vancouver Food Strategy.

The City encourages community organizations that operate in “food deserts” (areas short on affordable, fresh, and healthy food) to develop community food markets on their property.

The Art Party began as a promotional campaign for the Main Art Drift in 2010 – local small businesses supporting local artists on Main Street, Vancouver.

Today, The Art Party is a social networking community and endorser of Earth Charter® principles for a just, sustainable and peaceful planet. We are a few human and robot volunteers.
